it was very peanut butter-ish... yumyum! the desserts there are good too... like mango pudding.. my favourite! pretty nice food at affordable prices..
2. 大家樂 Cafe de Coral - Dinner

familiar sign? if u've been to HK.. u'll probably see this.. it's their fast food! our favourite dining place cos their set meals are just soo worth it... it's only HKD35 for a whole set which includes soup + drinks + a steak+ appetizer ... try it when u're there the next time... their 奶茶 (milk tea) is pretty gd too...

Shopping for the day:
1. Louis Vuitton Flagship Store
we only went there to SEE.. haha.. we had an order from my auntie... so went to get watever she wanted for her... but there were a lot of chinese (as in chinese nationals)there... ok.. in fact they're everywhere in HK... haha.. btw... LV in HK is slightly cheaper than the one in singapore... tt's why we had tt order...
2. Times Square
one of the pretty "high-class" shopping malls around 銅鑼灣... where mostly imported brands are... but it's really crowded on wkends... gd buys at zara but the queues for the fitting rm n cashier were just too long...
Day 3 Sunday 02/07/06
Menu of the day:
1. 南翔饅頭店 - Lunch
frachise store from shanghai... heard they've recently opened one in singapore as well but it's pretty bad... so ... anyways... this HK branch is an alternative to the shanghai main store... n is much better than the one in spore... 小籠包 is their specialty... go for 蟹粉小籠包...
2. Nishimura Restaurant - Dinner

enough of all the chinese cuisines... n here we are.. at a japanese restaurant located at 海港城 kowloon side.. specialising in grilled food.. a little above avg pricing... food was v. fresh.. n u get a really nice panaromic view of the hong kong island...
Shopping for the day:
旺角 Mongkok
yeap.. that's my favourite shopping place! cos it's CHEAP! 旺角中心 is my favourite hangout place... cos all the shops are under 1 roof... it's sheltered n air-conditioned.. haha.. but it's v. small.. n v. squeezy esp on a sunday... but we did get some good buys... e.g. a pair of shoes for HKD80 (~SGD 16) when u haf to pay at least $35 in spore.... there's a bigger shopping mall around tt area too... Langham Place... there's a range of shops there...slightly more expensive... but still alrite...
Day 4 Monday 03/07/06
Menu of the day:
1. 豆漿粢飯 - Breakfast
one of my favourite breakfast... soya bean milk plus 粢 飯... it's actually just pork floss + 油條 + 榨菜 wrapped in glutinous rice... i always see them eating it on tv... n when i made my trip there... i realised tt it's really nice! haha..
2. 車氏粵菜軒 Che's Cantonese Restaurant - Lunch
yumcha... a bit different from the usual ones... different variety...

Shopping for the day:
1. back to Times Square after breakfast...
beat the crowd... no queues for fitting room ... no queues for cashier...
conclusion: do ur shopping on wkdays!
2.
荔枝角
tt's the place to get wholesales for trendy fashions... spotted lots of sporeans there... suspect they're buying stocks back to sell ... haha... there's just too many things there... 眼花繚亂 ... spoilt for choices.. n we came back empty handed...
3. returned back to Causeway Bay area to continue shopping at the little shops in the little alleys...
Day 5 Tuesday 04/07/06
Menu of the day:
1. 翠華餐廳 Tsui Wah Restaurant - Breakfast
famous for their 菠蘿包 (pineapple bun)... spread the butter while it's still hot so tt it will melt... yummy.... this place is quite like an "international restaurant" ... they serve other stuffs like bibimbap... n hainanese chicken rice!
2. 發記甜品 - Dessert
since all the shops weren't open yet... we sat down at a dessert place.. u can't sit there without order anything right? so made my bro order sth.. haha.. he said the 芒果豆花 is nice... i've been there the last time too.. n their 楊枝甘露 n mango pudding are not bad too...
3. 大家樂 - Tea
since we had a late breakfast... we ended having tea instead of lunch.... n of course the most ideal place wld be 大家樂... everyone's favourite! n guess wat... they had pineapple bun too! being a pineapple bun lover... of course i went for tt.. hehe... their chicken wings are gd too! btw... did i mention tt my bro has to visit this place everyday for his afternoon 奶茶 treat n occasionally with chicken wings.. hehe...
4. 有骨氣 - Dinner
weird name huh.. can't make out wat kinda meal tt is? hehe... it's actually steamboat... heard from my bro's friend tt it's gd... n since it was so near our hotel ... we went to try... it turned out to be excellent!!
Shopping for the day:
still at Causeway Bay....
there's just too many stuffs there that it's impossible to finish shopping! 銅鑼灣坊 is recommended... the Redmall is not bad too.. just tt the shops open really late... went at 3ish n most shops were still not opened yet.. -_-"
last nite in HK... but we were back at the hotel early... cos "some people" wanted to rest before they get up for the world cup semi-finals... Germany VS Italy...
Day 6 Wednesday 05/07/06
had a quick breaky at the nooch bar n off we were to the airport.. embarking our journey to taipei!
BR 0866 departing 1200 arriving 1340...
warning: do not purchase tickets from Zuji Travel... 2nd time that they screw up our bookings.
anyways... with that aside... we arrived at the Taipei Chiang Kai Shiek International Airport...

that's the first thing that caught my attention at the airport.. i sound really "sua ku" but.. haha.. it's a vending machine for newspaper! it functions exactly the same way as those vending machine for drinks.. n i thought it was really cool... haha...
yeap... we checked in to our hotel... 國聯飯店 United Hotel...
entrance of the hotel... the best picture i can find..
by the time we settled down... we were all hungry.. hehe... one of the nearest place we could find was this place called 四海豆漿....

not too bad... but there are better ones.. hehehe... anyways... their 咸豆漿 is really special... as in it's really like porridge... not really to my liking... prefer their 甜豆漿... a bit different from what we get in spore.. they added some peanuts...
after filling our stomachs... we walked along 忠孝東路... almost to the other end... to the SOGO departmental store... n we ended up eating again! sat down at UCC cafe for tea n waffle... makes me feel fat for eating non-stop.... but tt's not it... there's more to come.. hehe...
SOGO UCC cafe... waffle with green tea ice cream and red bean
SOGO here seems to have more variety ... much bigger... much more japanese fashion.... actually... generally... taiwan is very influenced by the japanese... anyways.... we walked all the way back to where our hotel was... n there was a 鼎泰丰 nearby... yeap... u're rite... tt's where we settled for dinner....

tadah! yummy yummy 小籠包... i know they have it in singapore... but since taiwan is the origin of 鼎泰丰... we gotta try it out ! n it's really nicer than the one in spore... wonder if u've realised that anything tt has been franchised to spore seem to be of different standards... n doesn't seem to be as tasty... hehe...
Day 7 Thursday 06/07/06
so... we can't be eating n shopping all the time right? so we made a vist to the National Palace Museum (國立故宮博物院)well.. it's quite historical.. but very interesting and enriching... they've got so many artefacts there but we didn't have enough time to cover all of them.... didn't expect the place to be soooo big! n we had a light lunch at their cafeteria.. it wasn't tt bad...

top row shows what we had at the cafeteria... tiramisu which doesn't taste like the authentic tiramisu... the toast was nice... n we had sandwiches too... n the rest are pictures tt we took outside the museum... btw.. if u're wondering wat i was doing in the 3rd picture of the 2nd row... i was actually hiding from the sun.. haha.. it was really really sunny n warm n humid! i was literally melting....
next stop: 士林夜市 for more FOOD!
caught a bus there... pretty fast... abt 15min? yeah.. we were there pretty early.. arnd 5ish so it's not tt crowded yet....

we've the 蚵仔煎 which is fried egg with oyster n 甜不辣 hmm.. fried fish cake like thing but more chewy n they're all served with the special red sauce... a bit sweetish... we call it the 萬能醬 tt can be used for everything.. hehe..
the next item in line got to be the 大雞排... the queue wasn't tt long when we bought.. but as we were leaving.. the queue got really really long! i guess the wait is worth it cos it's really good! 讚!of course we tried the taiwan sausages too...
tt's me n my sis at one of those pedestrian walks...
this thing here is sth quite interesting.. it's called 哇!青蛙下蛋!we were wondering wat it was too.. it's actually just ice jelly... -_-" but the name sounds so cute.. haha...
walked around tt area for a little while more... but due to the humidity n the heat... we headed back to the hotel for a rest... late dinner was at some little restaurant near our hotel which wasn't tt fantastic so i shan't blog abt it... after dinner activity: went to a shopping mall 京華城 which was supposed to be open 24 hours... BUT... only to find out tt it was only PART (i.e. karaoke... clubs... cinema) of the mall that was open 24 hours.. -_-" n all the shops were closed alr... wasted trip...
